The Alliance of Hazardous Materials
Professionals (AHMP) is a hazardous materials professional
organization that is comprised of 60 Chapters with over
8,500 members in 34 States, including the District of
Columbia and Guam.
To earn the CHMM designation, an
environmental professional has demonstrated the competence
and qualifications to handle the responsibility for the
complex aspects of hazardous material management. (S)he
has earned certification in the management of hazardous
material. (S)he is certified in the use, control,
administration and training of hazardous materials or
regulates hazardous materials.
Certification is awarded by the Institute of Hazardous
Materials Management (IHMM), which was founded in 1984.
